TANKFEST 2017 at the Tank Museum in Bovington on 24-25 June 2017
Billed as “The biggest display of historic moving armour in the world!” Tankfest is is the world’s biggest and best live display of historic armour, living history, and much more. Tankfest attracts tank enthusiasts from across the world to The Tank Museum, Bovington, Dorset, UK. See some rare tanks in action, meet fellow tank lovers and share enthusiasm and knowledge of these incredible vehicles.
The Arlington Hotel in Bournemouth welcomes tank lovers for Tankfest 2017
The Tank Museum is in a rural part of Dorset, and accommodation in the area is limited. The Arlington Hotel in Bournemouth is a 45-minute drive from Bovington and welcomes tank enthusiasts.
The Arlington Hotel offers a small, friendly bar overlooking Bournemouth Gardens. It is the perfect place to relax and share the highlight of the day with other tank lovers.
Bournemouth is also a great location for non-tank loving family and partners. Bournemouth Gardens, Bournemouth beach and Bournemouth town centre are all within 400m of the Arlington Hotel.
The Arlington offers B&B or D,B&B accommodation, and can include packed lunches for Tankfest.
Parking at the Tank Museum is limited, so if there is sufficient demand the Arlington can provide a shuttle service to the venue on both days. Extra trains have been scheduled for Tankfest, and trains from Bournemouth to Wool take about 30 minutes.

The Jagdpanther and the Sturmgeschutz, two rare Second World War German tanks are just two of the highlights of Tankfest 2017.
There are only three running Jagdpanthers in the world, and this is a rare opportunity to see one on the move. The Jagdpanther is appearing as an arena substitute for Tiger 131. The Tiger 131 will be on display in the new Tiger Collection exhibition which opens in April 2017.
The newly restored Sturmgeschutz makes its TANKFEST debut. It is one of only a handful still running in the world. The Sturmgeschutz, or assault gun, was a very popular weapon in German service during the Second World War.
