Ripped jeans and dungarees are back, and now so are those 80’s icons of pop – Bananarama!
The original 80’s Bananarama line-up have reformed for the Bananarama Tour 2017, and they’ll be at the BIC, Bournemouth on 26 November 2017!
Bananarama formed in 1979 by friends Sara Dallin, Siobhan Fahey and Keren Woodward, and became the biggest girl band of the 80s. They sold over 40 million records, with their biggest-sellers including Robert De Niro’s Waiting, Cruel Summer and Venus, but in spite of all the hits, this original line-up never toured together! When Fahey left in 1988 the other two members were joined by Jacquie O’Sullivan for three years, before continuing as a duo.
The Bananarama Tour will be a first, and it might be your only chance to catch them live.
Keren Woodward told Chris Evans recently “This is the first time we’ve performed live together – with the exception of getting onstage with a cassette when we were 18! We’re going to go back and celebrate that extraordinary life we led together in our twenties.”
At the height of their popularity, the group had 10 singles that made it into the top 10, including Love in the First Degree, Cruel Summer, Venus and Robert De Niro’s Waiting.
