Bournemouth is not just for summer – there’s plenty to do and see all year long.
Bournemouth is lucky enough to benefit from some of the best weather in the UK. The climate here is mild compared to other parts of the country, and the beach certainly seems to experience less rain than surrounding areas.
Spring in Bournemouth
Temperatures are starting to rise, spring flowers are appearing, trees and plants are budding into life, there is birdsong in the air, and the sun is making a comeback! A great time to visit some of the magnificent gardens in the area, cycle or walk along the prom and enjoy the bracing sea air without the chill. You might need a jumper or a coat, but you might also just need a T-shirt and shorts.

Summer in Bournemouth is wonderful – it has all the best bits of an English seaside summer holiday, and none of the worst. The weather can be almost Mediterranean-like, and the evenings are long and warm. Autumn in Bournemouth
September often starts with a bit of an Indian summer, and temperatures can stay almost summer like well into the month. As temperatures begin to fall and the beaches empty of summer visitors, Bournemouth becomes the perfect place for autumnal walks through the gardens, and along the seafront. The Jurassic coast is looking majestic, and the sunsets over Bournemouth and Christchurch are spectacular.
